The New New Year’s Resolutions for Moms and Dads

Author: one tough job

You’ve spent the last two months creating the perfect finale to a great year. You’ve waited in line for hours to find the perfect holiday gifts, gone through yards and yards of wrapping paper, and spent countless hours cooking, cleaning, and planning quality time with your kids and families.

As you look forward to the next year and make resolutions for what you might do differently, it’s natural to think of all the things you want to change. Maybe it’s the ever popular lose weight/get healthy goal, the save money dream, or the do more of anything and everything resolutions we tend to choose. While those might be good goals to aspire to, we’d like to challenge you to take it easy on yourself in 2018 and focus on the things you are already great at.

This year, take a different approach to resolutions:

  1. Ditch the guilt – it's time to get rid of the mommy/daddy guilt.
  2. Focus on what you do right – celebrate all the things that make you a great parent.
  3. Take care of yourself – actually do some of the self care ideas you’ve been dreaming of.

We know parenting is tough, but we also know that you are doing a great job! Happy New Year!
