Keep in mind that babies develop at different rates. Some ten month olds may be walking while other babies continue to crawl throughout the first year.

As your baby gets older, it is exciting to see all of the developmental changes taking shape. You may begin to see your child trying harder to do things for himself, such as crawl, clap, hold onto objects, “babble”, and stand up on his own two feet. This stage of infancy will allow you to play with your child on a whole new level as you watch his mind and body grow.

By twelve months old your baby is about to embark on a whole new journey: walking. Help her learn by allowing her to crawl freely and supporting her while she attempts to pull herself up. With walking comes a burst in language development. Help your baby prepare for this by pointing to objects and saying their name for her to hear. Even if she can't repeat the words now, you will help her understand the meaning of pointing and learn new words.
